Trésor/Treasure

Meet 'Trésor' or 'Treasure,' a creation born somewhat accidentally during my experimentation with the fusion of metal and glass, particularly stainless steel. Its form is akin to a round dish, a bit elusive to describe. Standing at 10 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height, this sculpture primarily consists of glass, gracefully draped over a snake-like or centipede form (crafted from an industrial rubber belt joiner). The glass underwent a two-stage fusion process: intentional broken glass laid over a new one in the first stage, followed by draping over a round stainless (multi-teeth) in the second stage. The title 'Trésor' alludes to the value discovered in the 'playful' journey of creation—both essential and delicately fragile. The subjective allure of translucent green colors from float glass adds to its aesthetic charm. This desk-top piece offers visibility from both sides, and the possibility of including a wood and metal base is currently under consideration (yet to be decided).

Love the new artwork in my office and living room. It lifts us up everyday, acts as a conversation piece in Zoom calls, and we love the most being able to support artists in our communities as well.
